About Indivisible Lincoln City

Change through Peaceful Resistance

Indivisible Lincoln City is part of a network of grass-roots groups from every state of the union.

  • We resist the destructive policies of the Trump administration.
  • We work to shore up our democracy.
  • We are dedicated to peaceful, non-violent action.
  • We hold rallies to show others that they are not alone.
  • We show others how to choose action over despair.

five days: 10,000 Taken

STOP THE ICE SURGE

It began quietly, ICE moving with stealth, determined to meet Stephen Miller’s directive to increase detentions. In just five days at the end of June, 10,000 people were “disappeared” across the country, quickly doubling the daily rate. In Oregon, June detentions were twice what they were in May and over three times those in April. Arresting 2000 people per day, they got closer to Miller’s goal of 3000.

ICE makes no secret of the fact that agents are arresting people with impunity. ICE records show that most – 70% - of those arrested are not criminals. So, the assertion that these arrests are making us safer is naïve. In the face of the ICE surge, anyone whose skin is brown is not safe, their families are not safe.

As the remaining ballots get counted, it is hard to remain patient. But, hey - we made it this far into Trump 2.0, so we can wait until  5 p.m on June 12th. That's the time & date for  Lincoln County's Final Report of Official Election Results.
