One Community is a collaboration between the businesses and the people of Lincoln City.
- We at Indivisible Lincoln City have grave concerns about the presence of ICE agents in our city, and about the very real possibility of an ICE detention center being built in Newport. ( in spite of the recent resolution that was passed by the city of Newport, that threat still exists.)
- We are a law-abiding and nonviolent organization. We have come together to protect our country, our democracy, our constitution, and all the people who live in our country. We do not advocate interfering with lawful federal actions by ICE agents. However, we are against ICE agents acting in an unlawful, violent, disrespectful and indiscriminate manner, which threatens our immigrant population, our economy, and our way of life.
- ONE-COMMUNITY has been created to address this very serious issue. It is a collaboration between our local business community and the residents of Lincoln City.
- We defend our democracy, the rule of law, and the right of every resident to live without fear.
- We stand in solidarity with our immigrant community.
- We will continue to work together to protect the health, safety and stability of our residents, visitors, employees, customers, businesses, and property.
- We encourage our business owners to pledge their support to this cause.
- By leading together, we can help ensure that Lincoln City will remain a place where businesses succeed, and everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
